Sandy Kristiansson, President
Sandy has over 20 years of marketing communications experience and brings the unique perspective of having an extensive background on both sides of the agency and client equation. Sandy began his career in New York with Tilley Marlieb Advertising rising up to accounts manager before moving onto Wells Rich Green BDDP. With Wells Rich Greene, he managed numerous national brands' award winning advertising campaigns at the vice president level. After 10 years on the agency side, he joined Citizens Bank as the director of advertising eventually moving onto the strategic position of vice president director of partnership & sponsorship marketing. Sandy's work on Liberty Mutual Insurance, Sheraton Hotels, ITT Corporation, Citizens Bank, Slade's Ferry Bank, Middlesex Savings Bank, Koch Eye Associates, The Zeiterion Theatre & Winston Flowers has won him awards from the New York Ad Club and selection as one of the Boston Business Journal's 40 under 40 Business Stars. He launched the Black Diamond Marketing Group in 2001.
Mary K. Talbot, Director of Public & Community Relations
Mary K. joined Black Diamond in 2002 as a partner. Prior to joining Black Diamond, she served as an independent counsel for a variety of clients for three years. Before working as a consultant, Mary K. was director of public relations for Citizens Bank, director of marketing and communications for the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, director of communications for the lieutenant governor of Rhode Island and vice president/senior account executive at two regional full-service marketing agencies. She has been honored with the Boston Ad Club's Hatch Award, and has been recognized by the Publicity Club of New England with numerous Bell Ringer Awards. Talbot is a graduate of Providence College and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism where she received her master's degree in corporate public relations.
Steve Bautista, Co-Chief Creative Officer
With over 20 years experience in advertising, Steve began his creative career as copywriter at HBM in Providence. With a passion for his craft firmly in place, Steve ventured to Mullen where he rose to vice president and helped the agency build its reputation on a national level. Later, he returned to Providence to apply his talents at Leonard, Monahan Lubars & Kelly and Pagano, Shenck & Kay, where his work received national and international acclaim. Prior to joining forces with Black Diamond Marketing Group, Steve served as co-creative director at Ingalls in Boston and as an executive vice president group creative director at Arnold Worldwide. Steve's work has been honored by all awards shows that matter: The One Show, New York's Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, Cannes, Clio, The Kelly Awards and Boston's Hatch awards.
Bob Saabye, Co-Chief Creative Officer
Bob's ability to translate a client's marketing objectives into clear, hard-hitting visual messages has been recognized throughout New England for years. Before founding Leonard, Monahan, Saabye, Bob worked at Horton, Church & Goff. At LMS, Bob helped grow a one-client shop into a nationally known agency with clients like Lotus, American Tourister, Gerber, Foot Joy/American Brands. After ten years at LMS, Bob decided to form Saaybe & Company and then came on board with Black Diamond in 2002. Bob is one of New England's most awarding-winning art directors with honors in the New York One Show, CA Show, CLIOs, New York and Boston Art Directors Club Shows and Hatch.
Terry McGrath, Director of Media Planning & Buying
Terry has over 25 years of experience across many different business categories. Prior to joining Black Diamond, Terry served as president and executive vice president at PGR Media, where billings rose from $3.0MM to $80.0MM, and achieved the Inc. 500 award for one of the fastest growing small business in America. She previously worked at Hill, Holliday in Boston and at Young & Rubicam in New York. The vast client experience and training in the "art and science" of media planning allows her to deliver unparalleled, measurable results. Client experience includes numerous Fortune 500 companies, as well as well-known brands, such as, General Foods, Hyatt Hotels, Nissan Motors, Tommy Hilfiger, Bank of New England, U.S. Postal Services, New England Journal of Medicine, Centra Software, and Stride Rite.
